Flower Delivery

Flower delivery is a main service provided by florists. Customers usually look at their selection of flower arrangements in-store or online. Clients' purchases are then delivered to a recipient's home or office address. Devoted to ensuring customer satisfaction, florists take the time to talk about their needs. They bring customers only the most fantastic flowers and arrangements. This means making sure they last for more than only a couple days. And any flower designer knows that trying to keep flowers fresh is and must be their # 1 priority.

Proper Storage In-Store and Before Delivery

One of the most practical means to enjoy long-lasting flowers is to keep them chilly. It's also ideal to keep them out of direct daylight. To make that happen, most, if not all, florists keep at least one fridge cooler in their shop. This keeps their inventory of flowers cool and fresh. Other folks even purchase specific storage machines to keep their floral products at a brisk 36-46 ° F. Florists also store wrapped up arrangements in a cooler prior to delivery or pick-up. This holds the flowers in excellent shape until they get to the client or recipient. A lot of larger stores also invest in cooling vehicles or temperature control tools. With temperatures at 36-46 ° F, floral orders stay fresh even with long-distance trips. Many flower shops also offer same-day delivery in their area and nearby towns. So, clients can get stunning arrangements to their loved ones in as promptly as a couple hours!

Development of Flower Delivery

In addition to running their shop, florists get orders from customers. They also talk to clients about requests they have for major celebrations and special occasions. Before the internet, much of the flower shop's customers were walk-ins and calls. These customers typically needed a single bouquet or arrangement delivered that same day. Today, clients sometimes place large-scale orders or made-to-order floral arrangements. These are normally unique to gatherings like:

  • a wedding
  • a lavish party
  • holiday bash
  • a celebration of life.
After getting their orders, florists create the designs depending on the client's needs. These purchase orders are then either prepared for pick-up or issued out for delivery.

Who Does the Flower Delivery?

Florists are in charge of designing and putting together floral arrangements for their customers. Flower delivery drivers then gather floral orders at flower shops and deliver them. Flower delivery roles are normally entry-level professions, so no experience is required. But at a minimum, they should have a valid driver's license and a spotless driving record. Most floral shops use box trucks to deliver their goods to clients. Drivers must know how to steer and manage these vehicles The standard run-through of a floral delivery drivers' tasks are:

  • Packing flower arrangements inside the delivery vehicle
  • Checking for any damages informing the florist about any concerns
  • Taking floral orders to customers' or their recipients' homes or offices
  • Sometimes, getting the recipient's signature as proof of delivery

Other than that, drivers also assist in the store or storehouse. These involve unboxing deliveries of flower stocks. They may also help the staff arrange floral products in the stockroom.
